A selection of recent engagements. I name clients only when they’ve agreed to it; otherwise the work stays anonymised. The problems and outcomes are always real.

Key facts:Sept 2025 - Aug 2026~60 integrations

Engaged by a leading Dutch technology delivery company to deliver the integration layer connecting a newly built core banking platform to their customer's existing systems (a public website and multiple internal tools including CRM and compliance reporting). Scoped and delivered between September 2025 and August 2026, against a fixed deadline.

The engagement covered around 60 integrations, built using three patterns: REST API-based integration, file-based exchange, and messaging. Chosen case by case to fit what each system and consuming team needed. My client focused on running the new core bank; I focused on connecting it to the rest of the bank's systems, each of us working to our own strengths. The technical execution of the integration layer was left to my judgment. My client set the outcome, not the method.

The hardest part of the work was reaching shared agreement across teams that don't normally work together, not the technology. Every integration meant defining complex data contracts, clear and abstract enough for multiple consuming teams to align on and confirming it represented their system correctly. Where an industry standard existed (e.g. ISO 20022 is used in Dutch banking), I used it; where none did, we defined the contract ourselves, collaborating with each consuming team to confirm it represented their system correctly.

I heavily used Microsoft Azure integration services like Functions, Service Bus and API Management. Combined with a working method built on agentic workflows and documentation. Architecture documents, READMEs, architecture decision records, runbooks, compliance evidence, code and specifications were created with the help of GitHub Copilot.

Result: delivered on schedule, with no major issues since go-live.

Advisory retainer · SaaS / Product

Key facts:Oct 2025 - Mar 202610 full-day sparring sessions

Provided ongoing technical sparring for platform and software teams at a Dutch SaaS company. Helping them challenge and validate architectural decisions before committing. Outcomes included a reliable inbox/outbox messaging pattern, an MCP-based architecture, and structured feedback on the product roadmap. The engagement ran as a prepaid block of sessions: no day-to-day involvement, just advisory presence when the team needed it most.

Key facts:Apr 2025 - May 2026meetingreport

Provided a detailed analysis of the Azure adoption plan another IT Service Provider had created for them. Validated the good parts of the plan, and suggested improvements where needed. This included a roadmap for adoption and a set of best practices for cloud adoption (Microsoft CAF). The engagement ran as a single face to face meeting, followed by a detailed report to increase the chances of successful cloud adoption.
